UNL Daily Crime & Fire Log

The Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (20 USC § 1092(f)) is the landmark federal law, originally known as the Campus Security Act, that requires colleges and universities with a police or security department to maintain a public crime log documenting the “nature, date, time, and general location of each crime” and its disposition, if known. Incidents must be entered into the log within two (2) business days. The log must be accessible to the public during regular business hours, remain open for sixty (60) days, and, subsequently, made available within two business days upon request.
